About the farmer:

Aila is a quirky, nerdy sort of girl; born and raised in the suburbs of Southern California, she really has no excuse for her fascination with farming. In High School she participated in FFA (Future Farmers of America), and took classes on animal health care. Aila loves animals, especially: dogs, goats, chickens, ducks, and sheep. She has worked as a farm intern on farms in California, and spent some time traveling at farm-stays in Oregon.

In her past life of normalcy, Aila has had a variety of careers, including (but not limited to): high school teacher, bus driver, paint store assistant manager, university administrative assistant, etc. She has a BA degree from UC Davis, and a Graduate Credential from San Diego State University.

And for the truly curious, her name is pronounced “eye-la.”
